I don't wanna twitch involuntarily while trying to relax watching a movie
You watch horror movies to relax? I mean it's possible that you're just that awesome so I'll give you that just in case. However I actually watch horror movies to get scared so I'm honestly asking if you go to a theater for a horror movie or pop one in just to unwind and relax. Typically I like being kind of anxious through a horror movie or anticipating when the next scary situation is about to happen.
As far as actual jump scares go, I'm not particularly a fan of a movie with a bunch of them in it. However I do like them from time to time I suppose. For example in The Conjuring, when the witch was on top of the dresser. Well...honestly I don't know if that was meant to be a jump scare or not but it made me jump. So I suppose that doesn't count.
I can not stand cheeky jump scares for example It Follows when they were walking through that old house and a piece of the wall suddenly fell out and made a hole. Great, a loud noise in the theater just to get people to react....to a hole in the wall. Those bug the crap out of me.
In essence I kind of agree with the whole take jump scares out and we'd have a solid movie. I just don't mind one or two in a 1-2hr long movie. I do mind 9-10 in a 1-2hr long movie in the first 5 minutes. Holy *beep* stop.
