Additional content unlocked from B1 to B2?

Hey, all!

Can someone fill me in on this? I remember hearing something in interviews via X-play and the like from the developers that there was going to be some content that was unlocked in Borderlands 2 by having played Borderlands. In my mind, I thought I remember hearing that this was the Mechromancer class (i.e. - free DLC) if this was done, but now I see posts saying this will be at a cost.

1. Does anyone know what this content is or if they just decided to dump it?

2. Is this unlocked by just having a Borderlands save file or does it have to be a completed game? (I completed the campaign with all 4 characters but then my PS3 got the YLOD so all my save files were erased upon repair of the console; I've since started a new game a couple weeks ago, but it's at the very beginning).

Any info on the above would be awesome. Thanks!

It's skins... you know, different heads and outfits. The mecromancer was pre-order content, though it will be released as regular DLC eventually.
And you just need a saved game; it can be at the very first save point. At least that's how it works for PC.
