Good acting, initially immersive and an interesting setup but the end result was a snoozer. No scares, one shock (the pilot being shot), minimal gore.
Also, the found footage conceit noticeably doesn't work at all.
I'm assuming you mean the cult segment in VHS 2 (I believe). That was better than this, even though the bulk of all 3 VHS movies were pretty bad. Red State was about the same in terms of quality, but Red State definitely had more fear about it. Some of the murders were intense. Not so in this one. But Red State seemed to drag on a bit much.
