Found footage done right!

Im not usually a huge fan of found footage but this was done really well and is probably the best film of the sub genre I've seen yet! 9/10!

It's not a found footage film. There are some moments that are shown through Jake's camera, but the majority of the film isn't presented as being filmed by another character.

It's a documentary style film, and it's always presented as being filmed by another character, there are two cameras operating.

The whole movie consisted of footage shot by one of the characters. Sometimes you see them messing around with a tripod. That should explain the steady shots. The B-roll is introduced so they have footage from different angles and diffrent locations. At one point Father orders Caroline to grab the camera to record everything. This was a way to have footage while Sam, Jake and Patrick weren't around.
But you are right, it is not found footage; they shot it and took it back to their company to make the documentary.

Hell no. Blair Witch and Cannibal Holocaust is found footage done right. This movie didn't feel like a FF film at all! Most scenes were cut to different angles seamlessly, something that would be impossible to do if there was only ONE camera guy filming...

Low budget film director, with punk rock sensibilities.

There were two camera guys filming, and it's a vice documentary style film not found footafe

I wouldn't call this found footage. These d bags had the camera in their possession the whole time.

I agree! If you liked this one, you might like this movie called "Villain" which is a found footage horror movie shot on location at a comic convention.

To me it definitely belongs in the found footage category.
It was pretty good, but the acting was poor and the ending a little lame.
But still great atmosphere overall, Ti West is a hell of a director.

I would also not include this in the found footage genre.
I can see how you get there, but it just doesn't feel like one at all, nor seems to be coming across as one.
