I just watched the film and thought it wasn't that bad, but he has that woman stay with him(I think her name is Lacy) and the last scene I remember with her was when they were in bed together than she disappears. Anyone know what happened to her? Maybe I missed the scene or didn't hear the word of dialogue. I also see this is based on a book, so perhaps its revealed there. Thanks for any help

As joe is at the counter fixing a drink or something he sees that she (i think her name is connie) has left him a note:
{Dear Joe I've decided I think it's time for me to move out. Thanks for letting me stay here as long as I have. Take care of yourself. I'll see you around.}
Something to that effect basically and Joe quickly crumples up the letter and throws it down on the counter.
