0% chance this comes out in November

Don't be fooled. Remember that Eon announced the delay before covid-19 became as serious as it now is. They had no idea that we would be living in these current circumstances where the entire western world is shut down. The delay was at best a business decision and at worst a cover for critical re-shoots that we all know are needed. The situation has rapidly deteriorated since this announcement last month. Now that we are living under a lockdown, how can they do re-shoots? The entire economy, including the film industry, is shut down, and social distancing is required. By the time things are finally back to normal, they will not have time to do these re-shoots and everything else in post-production that will come along with that before November. So they either have the choice to honour the November release date and release the disaster that they currently have completed, or they go ahead with the re-shoots that they can't possibly cover up anymore and delay the film by at least another 6 months or so. In a best case scenario, this film will not be out until Spring 2021.

If you think EON waited until a few weeks before release, when press was beginning to ramp up to decide to do reshoots you're insane. They simply saw what was happening in China, and jumped to move back to their more traditional release date in November so they could maximize profits as a large amount of their revenue has been coming from the Chinese market.

The fact that the virus spreads Soo rapidly afterwards was simply a coincidence. There's no grand conspiracy here, just someone with far too much time on their hands coming up with conspiracy theories.

They could have had this released in 2017 and avoided all this. As I said before in another post, they should already be working on pre-production for a new actor's 3rd Bond film, but somehow we are still waiting for yet another Craig blunder five years after the last one, with no release date in sight.

Eon is very good at historical revisionism. They will get to use covid-19 as cover for their incompetence, so it's important that people remember the truth as it actually exists, and not the fake truth constructed by Broccoli, Wilson, and Craig. Movie theatres were still open when they made the announcement and they had no idea things would escalate to this point, so they clearly wanted to delay the film for other reasons, and there were credible rumours about disastrous test screenings, so I believe they want to do re-shoots, but now they might never be able to do that.

What a loon! Fake News and conspiracy theories.

Not a chance this comes out this year at all. You saw the article that AMC theaters are likely to shutter up? Massive blow. Nobody is rushing back to the theaters anytime soon, what theaters are left. This movie is pushed back at least another year. It's gonna drop three years past due of its "trendy" me too brexit bullshit and be a dinosaur misfire.

reply

I wonder if they thought they would have this film out in time to influence the public's opinion on Brexit. It's way too late for that now. Even with all the unnecessary delays, the UK is way past the point of return now on that issue, and as you said this film's message on that will be multiple years too late to effectively comment on the issue.

New rumours about new delays until sometime in 2021. Cover: coronavirus. Real reason: reshoots.

reply

I saw a rumor about this last week and made me think of the thread. April 2021 seems to be a strong possibility. This movie should have been out November of 2019...

reply

Might as well delay until November 2021 because of "tradition" or something like that.

reply

I think the Fast n Furious studio is the only people who saw the writing on the wall. They pushed it back a straight year.

What about the 'Coming to America' sequel. It's coming out this December. Do you it's in danger to get delayed??

reply

I think the world is just gonna accept that people are gonna get sick and die now and go back to normal. Minus the hand shaking but more casual sex than ever. So it'll all even out. People are done with house arrest.

Corona is over. Theathers re-opens in June. A lot of sets already re-opened so there is time to do some reshoots if they have to. This comes out in November.
