Who should be the next James Bond?

Any suggestions?

Over the last year or so we hear a lot of:

Richard Madden
Tom Hardy
Michael Fassbender
Tom Hiddleson
Henry Cavill
James Norton
Aiden Turner

good list, is this in any order?

reply

No, but I wouldn't be surprised if its someone not on the list I posted.

reply

Who cares. Who should be the new producers or nothing will change.

reply

what do you mean arent the broccolis still producing?

reply

I'd say, similar to how they usually go, somebody who isn't a megastar.

Daniel Craig had done a bunch of stuff, but was hardly an A-lister when he took the job. Connery and Lazenby were coming from basically no where. The most famous one was, I think, Moore from The Saint, but he was big on TV.

I'd say the best bet would be to find their 007 lurking in the corner somewhere.

Tilda Swinton

lol

My worst fears would be Richard Madden or literally anyone else that the media is pushing.

The likely and best outcome is that he will be a relatively unknown actor who will develop into the role. I just hope that they don't repeat the mistakes they made with the casting of Craig.

We need to get back to classic Bond - appearance - over 6 feet tall, brown hair. A charming, suave personality. The movies themselves need to feel like Bond again, more lighthearted, more gadgets.

Barbara Broccoli likes the Polish construction worker look I guess. I don't know any Polish construction workers who can unexpectedly get behind a naked woman in the shower and not end up in jail, but Broccoli's imagination is certainly not like that of a normal person.

I wonder what Cubby would think watching his idiot daughter and Michael Wilson f*ck up his amazing franchise.

reply

Michael Fassbender

I'd like to see him in a retro 60s Bond. Some of his scene in X Men reminded me of that. If not, he would still be great.

I like that he is handsome but a bit wolfish at the same time.

Not Sure:

I have read a couple of the books. Bond is not described as being a pretty type of guy but rather as a rough, large, guy who is intimidating. I can't think of many actors like that.

reply

He would be my choice. That First Class scene where he was hunting the Nazi's in the cafe gave off a total Bond vibe. However, as pointed out in this thread, the producers typically pick actors who aren't quite A-listers. The don't want the character of Bond to be overwhelmed by the star power of the actor playing him.

Fassbender is too 'big' for the role at this point I think.

reply

Probably, but he be great.

Someone black and preferably female.

It's time.

reply

I'd add: it should be lesbian, transgender and disabled too. We never have seen Bond interpreted by a trans black lesbian woman in a wheelchair. It's time to bring diversity!

reply

THEY MADE THAT MOVIE....ITS CALLED BLANKMAN.

reply

Wheelchair bound too. Her backstory would be that she was injured in a previous mission, but she's still keen to serve Her Majesty. Q -- who is openly gay, can't let a letter like that go to waste -- would outfit 007's wheelchair with all sorts of high tech weaponry. Think mini-surface-to-air missiles, drones, stun gun's etc.

It's time.

reply

Great idea. All it takes is some imagination and our movies, especially the Bonds, can be a lot more inclusive.

ARMIE HAMMER.

HENRY GOLDING.

WINSTON DUKE.
