I was watching some YouTube videos about the new Bond and the comment sections had some really funny takes on gender swapped roles that wouldn't make sense. What do you think would be some good ones?
Wonder Woman sequel: replacing gal Gadot with Morgan freeman - Rengawd 9292
Lara Croft, maybe give Dwayne Johnson a call - tcfreestyler123x
The Godmother:, Starring Meryl Streep as Don Rita Corleone, Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Corleone, Angelina Jolie as Sonny Corleone, with Melissa McCarthy as Clemenza and George Clooney as K.
Casting a black, transgender female as Rambo and the villains are the alleged white supremacist Neo-Nazis that are obviously the biggest threat to American these days.
I say they also reboot the Blade movies and cast Tom Hardy in the role, it'll be fun watching the crybaby SJW's sh!t their pants and immediately contradict themselves when they cry that Blade can only be played by a black man.
Apparently in this day and age it is appropriate to be racist/sexist as long as it goes in the politically correct direction.
But seriously if you want to turn Bond into a black woman, just make a new franchise and a new character and let it stand on its own. It's kind of sad that you have to hijack a well respected franchise in order to get people to listen to you.
She has so little acting experience she’s only been in one film which wasn’t an extra. I highly doubt they would hand the keys to the franchise over to such an inexperienced actress knowing the role is going to be controversial. Plus Barbara broccoli flat out said Bond would always be male. She may be the new 007 but that doesn’t mean that she is taking over the franchise, in the YOLT novel Bond actually did have a different codename than 007 and it makes sense they would replace 007 after Bond retired at the end of spectre. I honestly think they leaked this because they wanted attention to make up for the really bad publicity they’ve been getting
Exactly, except, it's an anti-WHITE male agenda. I've been reading about reboots/remakes over the past 3 days. Off the top of my head (I'm sure there are many more), look at this list of films/characters that they have redone recently or are currently making:
James Bond
Thor
Cliffhanger
Oceans 8
Ghostbusters
Dr. Who
Blade
What Men Want
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (The Hustle)
The Expendables (The Expendabelles)
The Nice Guys (The Nice Girls tv show)
In which of those was neither the gender nor race switched? Why do you think that is?
Idiocy like this is why people don't take the reasonable complaints about gender/race/visual changes seriously.
It speaks to a couple things:
1) The real reason a lot of you neckbeards are triggered
2) The entrenched thinking that has caused the pendulum to swing (TOO FAR) in the other direction.
Hardly. "Ignorance" would be buying into first, the idea of "race," then assigning value judgements based on such a flawed concept, and finally concluding that you have arrived at something profound and worth sharing. You have succinctly encapsulated a sad lack of critical thought, and tied it with a neat bow. Bravo. You can go, now. We don't need you any more.
You don't believe in race? It doesn't mean species you know? Does everyone who speaks believe they've found something profound? Is your reply to me something you believe is profound? You must excuse my crassness, the judgements I make are all valueless, like those judgements made towards me.
"You have succinctly encapsulated a sad lack of critical thought"
That only means I am proficient, it's better than verbose.
White to Black = Progressive
Male to Female = Progressive, Empowering
Straight to Gay = Progressive, Empowering, Representation
Black to White = Racist
Female to Male = Sexist
Gay to Straight = No idea what new "ism" they would call that.
These are the new rules and if you don't agree with them in any way you are a "Racist, Misogynistic, Incel, White supremacist, Homophobic Nazi who is afraid of woman".
This is, of course, a facile assessment of a very vocal minority. There is no shortage of people who object to absurd changes, but do it from a reasonable place. There is also no shortage of people who don't object to changes, and are happy as long as the movie works for them on a personal level.
Both perspectives are valid. Both are in short supply on just about any message board. Including this one.
FWIW; I used to get INCENSED whenever a character was changed from a work I was passionate about. I've learned to let it go. This allowed me to enjoy Thor, Doctor Strange, a couple of the Spider-Man movies, and many many more. It's also kept me from praising Nolan's Dark Knight movies; which, while they're decent enough as movies, are NOT at all faithful to the idea/character/history of Batman.
Your assessment is spot on and far from facile. Certain individuals like to pretend that certain topics/issues are more complex than they really are. Doing so helps them disguise their own racist and/or sexist agenda in imaginary details, such as, "black people can't be racist because racism can only come with power". Sure they can. Showing hatred and prejudice towards any person solely because of that person's race is racism. It really is that simple.
