yes or no - would Clive Owen have been a better Bond ?

Did you see Clive Owen in The Hire series of short advertainment films for BMW about 15 years ago? Those were pretty much his Bond auditions.

The helicopter/car chase one called Ticker is pure Bond.

And, of course, there was his turn in Shoot 'Em Up which established his action cred.

I was so totally onboard with Clive Owen when the producers went searching for someone to succeed Brosnan. When they announced Daniel Craig my response was: "Who the hell is Daniel Craig?"

But once I saw how much he owned Bond in Casino Royale, I had to admit that he was probably as good as and likely better than Owen for the role.

I think he would have been a good Bond, he had the right look, but I thought Craig was excellent after seeing Casino Royale.

Yes. I think he’s too old for the role now.
