did MI6 play a part in Boyle leaving?

Maybe the producers wanted him to go crazy on the stunts in light of the huge hype of Cruise in MI6? When Bond25 comes out of its the usual CG face over a stuntman and green screen stunts its going to look so lame in comparison. And Boyle was like 'yeah I don't want to be responsible for Craig dying on set'

I thought you were talking about The Secret Intelligence Service for a minute (the new name for MI6) and I got a bit confused wondering why they would be interfering with it.

Who knows. Boyle probably wanted more creative control than they were willing to give him. I would feel the same tbh. I'd rather bin a project than have some bigwig executive type shit all over it and turn it into a shadow of it's former self.

Its now been revealed Boyle and Craig disagreed with the actor for the villain (Boyle wanted an unknown Russian actor whereas Craig obviously wants someone already established like Skyfall/Spectre) also that the producers were getting concerned fierce leftie Boyle was steering the plot too close to present day stuff of metoo/Russian interference etc (traditionally the bond films just touch upon current events but not too much) and also its been said Broccoli was never happy that Boyle was bringing his own writers/people ditching Purvis/Wade

Boyle's Bond film would have been all those things. This is the end of Craig's era. They need to go out with a bang. Larger than life and huge actors. This isn't the moment to make a grounded edgy subversive film. And yes, Mission Impossible certainly ups the stakes. Action has never been bigger on the screen. The Fast n Furious films. All that. I think that bubble will burst eventually, but again, this isn't the moment to take the foot off the gas. After the slow Spectre, they're going to go high octane with this one.

yes think DB was planning something weird for 007..

Craig's not an idiot. I've seen lots of his interviews. He knows what makes for a good movie. If he wanted Boyle out, it was gonna be a disaster.

Interesting. I said for years they were going to kill Craig's Bond off in the end. His movies have never exactly fit in the continuity of the old films. They're more of a soft reboot tribute to the legacy of Bond. I personally think he should die in the end. I think it would be ballsy, fresh, and make Craig's run a neat little mini-series. And if they actually are going to do something radical with the casting of the next Bond, then uh... sure. Kill him. Besides, the symbolic death of the sexist white man in today's social and political climate is too hot an opportunity to pass up.

I do think they're going to hard cannon Bond as a code name in the next film, for better or worse. I think this is the actual end of Bond as we know him, whether they kill him or not. The farther away we drift from his cold war origins I actually think it's maybe even necessary.

my guess is the big twist would be hed 'die' Knight Rider style shot in the head at the end and then in next film be 'regenerated' (i.e. face surgery/memory wipe) and look like Fassbender or Cavill or Hardy etc

don't think theyd use the bond is a code name thing as theres too many discrepancies for it to work (bonds dead wife being referenced with Moore & Dalton, Goldeneyes 1986 opening, and more recent Skyfall the caretaker recognising him as 'James Bond'. plus Spectre with Blofeld as his half brother)...that being said it would clear up some stuff too (Dench as Brosnans M plus The Rock cud be considered Never Say Never Again 2 lol)

By the way the reason why Daniel's movies have never exactly fit in the continuity of the old films cos they're are reboot (not a soft reboot tribute) with a complete new timeline with Bond at the start of his 00 career with a dark and realistic approach inspired by the Nolan Batman and Bourne films. But anyway the producers are just fucking it up. Having Bond killed at the end of the film is a stupid ridiculous bad idea. I don't blame Danny Boyle for leaving. And yeah I hate to admit they're probably gonna make Bond a codename in the future at some point and it shouldn't be that way at all. Bond is one man. End off. If Bond 25 can't make the 2019 release date the producers should just get a new Bond. After all Daniel Craig's Bond got a good send off at the end of 'Spectre.'

Dear Barbara Broccoli, please fuck off. Albert would be spinning in his grave.
