why is eric roberts

throwing his career down the drain?

reply

Where was it before this movie? Best of the Best came out 15 years ago

reply

that's true but there seems to be a "trend" with some of the actors among which is val kilmer, nicholas cage and lately, robert de niro and whenever I see their names on the poster I'm not interested anymore!

reply

but... he had recently co-starred or at least appeared in MUCH higher profile films like "The Dark Knight" and "The Expendables".. This does seem a major major step down from some of the more higher profile films he's been doing lately. Not saying his career has always been high flying, but as of late he has been on quite a good upswing.

reply

I've seen him joke about some of the made for TV movies he's starred in. He doesn't seem to take it too seriously. Work is work after all.

reply

i interviewed him earlier this year and he shrugs his shoulders about some of his choices, says they're work

reply

lmfao at your comment!
I loved him in Best of the Best, though.

reply

I bet his $h!tiest movies make him more money than I've made all year. I'd star in a "Leonard Part 6" remake if they gave me a chance!

throwing his career down the drain?
What does Eric Roberts has to do with this?

reply

Roberts was one of the actors in the movie.

It's just a job. Actors probably have less of a sure thing than people in most other professions. Christopher Walken and Samuel Jackson also make a lot of pot-boilers among the quality films, and both have said they like to work. Considering the world economy, and the number of "name" actors who are appearing in similar low-budget knockoffs, it's not a big deal.

Eric talked in the Adam Carolla podcast about doing this *beep* movies ,it goes something like;
he is enjoying life(travel, meeting people) and he can do 10 of this a year and if he waited
for really big roles maybe 1 movie every 1-2 years would be available to him.

reply

I think Eric Roberts was drunk.

reply

I just said the same thing!

I seriously think he was so doped up that he thought this was the Blockbuster Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and realized too late that he signed a contract to this piece of trash. I found this by searching for Hansel and Gretel on IMDB and laughed to find three different movies with pretty much the same name during 2013.

Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013)(REAL)
Hansel & Gretel (2013)(FAKE nr.1)
Hansel & Gretel: Warriors of Witchcraft (2013)(FAKE nr.2)

EDIT: OH I'M SORRY, THERE'S MORE!
Hansel & Gretel Get Baked (2013)(FAKE nr.3)
Hansel and Gretel in 3D (2013)(FAKE nr.4)

Guys, what the hell.. -_-

It's what I call a Pocket Money flick.
Actors do them for a few quid while they're bored waiting at home for the Sunday roast to finish cooking.

With a film like this, he can do all his scenes in a day, maybe two and be home in time for tea, while making enough money to pay all his parking tickets and buy some new shoes with the change.
