"I'm not a dancer. Who am I?"

Few of us have great gifts that the world is made poorer when we lose them, but everyone, at some point in their lives, has to say, "I'm not a [fill in the blank]. What am I?"

The crashing sorrow of most of the artists or geniuses who've thrown everything they had into something to become the greatest in their field is that once that's over, they're left with that question -- "What am I?"

I have never felt so glad to be mediocre in my life. I am what I've been able to do for others and how I've served my Lord.

The courageous part -- and the truly great part -- of one's life is what one answers that question with. What are you when your body/mind begins to fail? That's what, and who, you really are.

You will probably disagree. That's the nature of discussions -- they have two sides.
