had anybody seen this yet?

Just wondering what you thought? As funny as TPB's?

reply

with the presence of Carrot Top, no one is rushing the theaters.

Opens Friday August 29th (tomorrow!) across Canada -- complete list of theatres here: http://www.cineplex.com/Search?Query=Swearnet -- I think it's a rockin' good time (although I'm biased, lol) - but would love to know what you guys think! Very proud of this film and the crazy *beep* *beep* we did in it! WPS

Stoked man! Thanks for the link Warren.

No problem -- tell me what you think after you see it and if it's up to the TPB standard! Hope you enjoy… WPS

reply

Really enjoyed the movie man! Keep up the great work and I'm excited to see some of your directing in the new season.

reply

Hands down, the best TPB movie. Well done, great job.
I'm amazed that fans of TPB didn't love it.
Smith carried the movie, he truly is the most talented of the entire bunch.
Only one small suggestion if you do another movie or are involved with the series next season: MORE J-ROCK!!!!!!!!!

reply

Was hilarious. Funnier than the other TBP movies.

reply

Yes, and I agree it is way funnier than any of the TPB movies. And Pat Roach is brilliant in it.

reply

Awww thanks guys! Although I think the TPB films are *beep* fantastic as well -- we are all very proud of Swearnet! Hopefully the fans will be able to discover it for themselves! WPS

I saw it and really enjoyed it.
Was it as funny as Trailer Park Boys? Short answer, Yes.
Long answer, it had a different style than TPB in how the story is told, mainly in that it isn't shot documentary style. Without giving anything away, Swearnet is probably greasier, but I'd say the style of humor is basically the same, it's what they do. Also, it was interesting in a good way to see the boys acting in a bit of a different light than what we're accustomed to, as it opened the doors for several new gags that just couldn't work for their TPB characters.
Ultimately, I think Swearnet probably falls somewhere between TPB at its best and at its worst in regards to how funny it is, and while similarities certainly exist, they're different enough for Swearnet to stand on its own.

Thanks They-Call-Me-Steve! We're certainly proud of the film and it's great that you enjoyed it! TPB are always HUGE shoes to fill… but thanks for the kind words man! WPS

Very surprised people are saying it's better than TPB's... I thought it was pretty damn bad.

After the fantastic season 8 of TPB, and the very funny 3rd film, I'm getting more and more exited to see what the boys are up to with this flick.

Does anyone know if it will be released on VOD along with U.S. cinema run? I found no info on it.

reply

This is no way near the TPB series. Just like "Live in *beep* Dublin" and "Live at the North Pole", this is just a huge waste of time and would never have received any attention if it wasn't for the original series. HUGE disappointment.

reply

i'm surprised by the hate for this movie. i thought it was hilarious. like others have said definitely not TPB style but it is still really funny. pat roach is the stand out for sure.
