You'd think that Delsanto, as someone with a chronic illness herself, would have had a sliver of sympathetic understanding for Marcus in that regard.

There is no medical or moral parallel between being afflicted with a disease like arthritis, through no fault of her own, and being a drunk, as a result of his own stupid choice and behavior. One is indeed a disease, while the other is clearly not. To say otherwise is just an attempt to be excused from responsibility.
