The Airport look (SPOILERS)

I didn't understand the significance of the look exchanged between the English woman and Caroline at the end of the airport scene. Having decided not to go with him, she looks at the woman, who appears unsure what she should do, and then Caroline shakes her head slightly at which point the other woman turns to follow Julien. What was that exchange about. I could gave understood a bid, as if to say it's ok, go with him, or a neutral sort of a smile, but the shake of the head confused me. I asked the stranger next to me in the cinema at the end of the film, and he was either a bit freaked out by me breaking the very English social taboo of pretending noone else is there, or he really didn't get it either.

Any thoughts?

Caroline was encouraging the English girl to ahead, and at the same time sort of blessing the situation.

However the final scene with all elders getting naked and getting into the sea seemed whimsical and out of place in the film (in spite of an alleged allegory of freedom and well being).
