Getting better than GITS SAC

I have watched all the episodes that have aired, and i am being sucked into this more intensely than GITS SAC. This will definitely hold a place among the classics like GITS and Death Note, Neon Genesis etc.

Whereas GITS concentrated on the AI aspect and ghosts, this delves deeper into human emotions and the question about im/perfect society.

I completely agree. It's a very dark show that grapples with core issues relevant today... it had me up for hours just thinking about it.

Not to mention the overall artwork is especially beautiful. *coughkogamicough* hngggg

ahahahaha

It's not the best and I've got to say that what I really loved was the GITS but the movies particulary the second, has a really nice part with the doctor.
But psycho-pass that started a bit shy and not impressive in nothing, like a regular show, had an amazing transformation, and thanks that it was a kind of Death Note, that is for me the best manga and anime not so good in the end but the best anime so far.

I'm really pleased to watch psycho-pass, and I always remember a quote of GITS: Inocence.

"Don't blame the mirror, of what you watch on it."

Ill start watching today

I have to say that Psycho-Pass has shaken me to my core in a way GITS:SAC never did. GITS:SAC is more intellectual, PP is more visceral, emotional. There are certain scenes that will be forever baked into my mind.

reply

Definitely. I hope in a decade or so, this will be the defining anime of the generation, or something akin to it.

This is GITS:SAC right up to where it succumbs to kiddie ratings with the the character Akane Tsunemori. Very disappointing and just crushes the entire anime. It's like splashing day glo paint on a Renoir. She even has the "big eyes" - no other main character does. Sadness. Give me Motoko Kusanagi any day.

I'll join your side and not the majority in this thread
who think this outshines GITS.

The fictional world in GITS is still one of the most believable near-future portrayals in all of science fiction. Whereas in PP the tech is more far-fetched science-fantasy.

And the premise was so un-original. The characters very anime cliché.

This is GITS for the 21st century (if not better). However, this show had next to no promotion or spotlight and it'll probably get noticed only by the cyberpunk or anime fanatic fringe. And that's the very sad truth.

I've just finished Part 1 (eps. 1-11) and I agree with you. It took me a long while to get into SAC, whereas this one grabbed me right away. It's also visually a lot more interesting to me.

Now I'm off to buy Part 2...

Love GITS:SAC I have a laughing man tattoo and have been looking for something similar. Just finished ep 6 and am very impressed with this so far
