Check out 'The Comeback' (2005), with Lisa Kudrow. It was a one season HBO series. Its outstanding, and very much in the same vein as 'Hello Ladies'.
I assume its available on Netflix, etc.

Can't believe no one's mentioned "Episodes". It's not only about the shallowness of Hollywood show business, but the main protagonists are also transplanted Brits who, like Stewart, feel very much like fish out of water.
Plus it has Matt LeBlanc, who does an amazing job of playing... Matt LeBlanc!
