Doubts

I have few doubts. Would be glad to hear comments.

#1 If it is really based on some real life incident, can someone point me to the link of the incident? I can't seem to find with my search

#2 If Jimmy Shergil was with fake CBI gang already, then the P K Sharma name and address that he brought out for Anupam Kher, was also wrong? If yes, then did phone tapping also never happen? If phone tapping did happen, then CBI would have the address of Anupam Kher's house. Why couldn't he be caught then?

#3 In the end a footage of Sharjah match is shown. Was that to indicate that those people were caught finally? Or not?

1. http://www.mid-day.com/news/2010/may/090510-tribhuvandas-bhimji-zaveri-robbery-1987-police-still-clueless.htm.

2. Well this the part where the director tried to commercialize the movie. Make it more thrilling and as usual the characters "larger than life". To make it more daring the director tried to put in a twist where the central characters conned CBI itself to commit their crime..

But while trying to do it, he led a lot of plot holes into the story. For one, even if the politician was scared of the CBI, as a minister he would definitely know the local police personnels and its higher-ups. So the idea of impersonating the higher-ups in the police force to gauge the minister is down-right stupid. Then, any Tom Dick and Harry cannot just walk into a CBI office and claim to be an SI and get them to invest their personnel and time on a case. CBI has their own liaison officers in the force to communicate with. Third, while Ajju is seen relocating himself, Anupam whose original address is known to CBI is seen telling his wife that he will be coming back soon. Naturally, the moment Manoj finds out he has been goofed, he would have ordered for the arrest /raid/ shadowing on Anupam's house and members.

So this is the part of the movie where the typical bollywood "leave your brains at home" special effect kicks in.

3.The movie draws parallel with the actual incident on many occasions. During the investigation of the real crime, for a while, the police believed and indeed investigated that the con man was in Dubai. The last scene is there to relate to that.
