Here we go again.

People aren't going to like this with the same old tired reasons - either bad acting, bad script, bad director - or any combination.

I thought it was a great low budget film. Good acting, good direction, good script. The viewers sucked, big time.

This won't really be the viewers or the film makers fault. It's clear the film makers made a character driven drama. It's clear the viewers are going to think it's heavy on sci-fy.

This is the distributors fault. Not like they don't know the worst people to piss off by bait and switching a SF with drama are SF fans, but they just don't care. I think they probably look at it as being better to distribute a film that a lot of people see and hate, than a film only a few see, but like.

Take that out of the equation and I'm left with low budget. Can't say the acting was bad. Not like they had trailers to rest in, worked normal hours, or had lots of extras to play off of. They were into it and I could tell they were getting direction. Can't say the script was bad either. I noticed a few witty elements and the plot tied in nicely.

I think if this thing had been marketed toward the genre, made use of an anamorphic format and had the money for a decent soundtrack, people would be liking it. (Oh yeah, maybe a little more lighting, ya think?) Word would have got out that there was a SF element and the SF fans would see it, just to say they did.
