I liked this movie better when it was called (spoilers below)...

The Ward 2010 by director John Carpenter

But in all honesty, this really wasn't a bad film (and no, I'm not associatd with this film - check out how long I've been on IMDb if you don't believe me).

When you realize that all the other girls are figments of May's imagination (which IS telegraphed rather obviously), why not realize that the comical way Eric Roberts character was portrayed was ALSO a figment of May's imagination.

So knowing that, think about it? That's why the acting was silly and farcical at times. The real May was the dark-haired May that Jake Busey's character was talking with. Although Jake Busy ALSO seemed a bit farcical at times, too.

As soon as the twist was revealed (NOT that the other girls were in May's imagination), that Dr. Jason Ballard was pinning murders on his confused patients, notice how his demeanor got darker and much more serious all of a sudden.

No longer was he the laughable Orville Redenbacher (as another reviewer mentioned). And once that twist was revealed, I felt the movie took a jump up in quality.

I do feel that Mr. Kawas should've set the tone of the whole movie like the latter part - as the seriousness (even with the cute girls) lent itself better to a drama/horror/thriller film.
