Reminded me of . . .

Berberian Sound Studio

Single location (more or less)
Sound plays a critical role
Psychogenic fugue sequences denoted by flash cuts and editing techniques
Enigmatic and hard to unravel
An innocent reaches enlightenment (of sorts)
And of course, both movies divide viewers massively

Anyone agree?

... Andrei Rublev (1966), a film by Andrei Tarkovsky. Because of the highly realistic, gritty, black and white depiction of an earlier historical period.

Yeah I suppose it's a little like Andrei Rublev, but for the vibe perhaps more like Stalker perhaps (men wandering interestly around mysterious fields; elements of magic and occultism; more words than action)

Hard To Be A God has shades of both Tarkovsky and A Field in England

How about "Another Earth" haha
