Rage fat Netflix.....they are cutting scenes!

I just started watching this series on Netflix. I noticed a lot of jumping around and some dialogue that didn't really make sense.

By chance I saw that the series had been posted on YouTube. I clinked onto it because I wanted to check things out. Imagine my shock when I found I was watching a different series!

Completely different opening, with the Empress and Consort Yu having an battle with smiles and nasty remarks, important scenes totally missing like Huan coming home to her family after being chosen, and a major scene with her father warning her of the danger and giving advice that completely shaped how Huan acted in the first episode. Even the audition to be chosen was brutally cut. There was much more dialogue between Huan, Lady Shen and the Emperor that lead to them being selected.

And that is only the first part of the first episode. I have put in a complaint to Netflix and will be watching the rest of the series on YouTube.

They're not cutting scenes, you're not seeing the same thing at all. "Empresses in the Palace in its original format was a 76-episode show, with each episode 45 minutes in length. The DVD release for America was chopped and edited down to a 6-part release of 90 minutes each. So what you have is, in essence, 57 hours of a show condensed into a 9-hour release.

Gonna be huge gaps in story

Damn. I really enjoyed this series, would certainly have preferred the full version!

I liked the condensed version, and much as I'd like to be hard core and say i'd watch all 57 hours, I dont think a western audience would ready for such a slow series and so many episodes.

If they're telling a good story we might.
