The movie has got the third biggest opening in 2014. The first was the Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho and the second is the Arjun Kapoor-Ranveer Singh film Gunday.

Several things worked in the favour of this movie. The script, Arjun-Alia's fresh pairing and supporting roles by very talented actors like Revathy, Amrita Singh and Ronit Roy. Though several critics had said that the movie did not do complete justice to the book, the movie's box-office business has proved the critics wrong.
