Wait... so we are suppose think 18 months happened over the 7 seasons?

Piper did time for 18 months... so 7 seasons went over only 18 months?? that timeline really doesn't sound right at all for 7 years worth of stuff happening over 18 months!

and this final season was extremely dark and depressing! we had innocent people Tastee staying in jail for life. Cindy getting away with it all and out. a suicide a almost suicide a baby dying. someone left out in the desert to die.. Red getting Dementia. and the word of all we are left on the cliffhanger if Diaz mother killed her daughter. Not saying the last season is bad just very depressing!

It was dark but I thought it was a strong ending. I imagine that prison is harsh and takes a physical and mental toll on all inmates, especially aging ones. We know there are horrendous tragedies going on with deportation. We know there is vast injustice that disproportionately affects people of color. I appreciate that this show did not gloss over all of this in favor of a happy ending.

Are we sure she only did 18 months on the show? The real Piper was in jail for about a year, but didn't show Piper actually get extra time between season 4 or 5?

I didn't find this season too dark other than Dogget's suicide which felt a bit forced just to add more drama. I'm glad we got to see the characters that were sent away after the riot one last time. Piper's story finally moved forward after being almost a side character for the last few seasons.

I have no idea who was the guy at the end banging on pots. They seem to think we'll remember a character probably shown once in a flashback seasons ago.

Suzanne's chicken story was horrible, like most of the stupid shit they made her do season after season because apparently she's a fan favorite. I skipped most of her scenes.

One thing that has bothered since season one is that all COs are either dumb, pervert or corrupted. While obviously there are corrupted guards in real life, I can't believe anyone could run a jail with such a dysfunctional staff.

Alicia Witt still looks amazing at 43.

She clearly says she did 18 months time. She was suppose to do 15 months

Now if she went in there in 2013 the ME TOO movement happened in 2017 so a bit hard to believe that it was 18 months which would take us to only 2015

Good catch! I should have registered that and all the other mentioned, current political garbage. Unless we're allowed to assume she went to prison for 18 mos. in early 2018, which, I feel, is too much to ask.

That was Pornstache, remember he's the one who was in love with Daya, that was Daya's little girl he was playing with as he appears to be helping raise her along with his mother since she adopted her.

It seemed longer because they were getting moved around a lot the last few seasons. And they had a whole season just about the riot, which lasted maybe a few days.

Also half the screen time was spent on backstories.

It’s not a romantic comedy. Prison,I’m sure, is hard. Life is hard. A lot of cops and those type people are bad. I think trying to show the good people was beautiful. Tastee trying to better her life and others was very uplifting.

left on the cliffhanger if Diaz mother killed her daughter.

According to an article I read, the actress who played Daya (Dascha Polanco) asked the writers what happened, and was told that Daya was not killed by Aleida. Apparently, her story line did not wrap up the way she really wanted it to. She really wanted Matt McGorry to come back so Daya could have some kind of closure with Bennett.
