Genre

Being a big fan of Ian Rankin I was looking forward to this but ended up disappointed. There was too little menace and too much I'll-judged "comedy" for my taste. Douglas Henshall acquitted himself well enough and Leonora Crichlow is very easy on the eye but on the whole it was a missed opportunity. Perhaps Rankin should sell his rights to the BBC in future, at least they tend to treat source material with some respect.
