Never been a huge fan, but this looks good, but don't like gadgets -?

Debating whether to get this- but never really warmed to any of the MGS games- the stories seemed too contrived, the cut scenes too long, the gadgets too overwhelming (I'm a bit of a casual, pick up and play gamer).

But I like sandbox games where you get to determine your own strategy, but aren't bogged down with too many options to cycle through (Far Cry/Skyrim/GTA etc).

Questions are: can you accomplish things with a basic stealth/loud approach, or are you tied down to using a hundred different gadgets to approach a mission? And is it free-roaming or really story-led?

Cheers, T.

I haven't played Far Cry or Skyrim.

Cut scenes are less than most MGS games.(You can skip them also if you want).
You carry 1 or 2 primary guns and 1 secondary gun.
For items and support weapons, you can carry as many or few as you want. You can beat the game without ever using most of them.
GTA is the only free roam game I've played and I'd say it's similar(once you finish the opening mission).

That's a great help! Thank you!

Bought the game. Took a while to get into the swing of things, but am really liking it so far. Can see why gadgets are needed though- bloody hard not to get spotted! (But frustratingly easy to survive, so far).
