Quiet's ending was really sad. *Spoilers*

The ending to Quiet was just, in my opinion, incredibly sad and so powerful. I didn't like the mission as I felt it was cheap in instances, but the cutscene that follows is just amazing. You just really, really don't want her to die and when you see her sacrifice herself to save you, it just formed a lump in the back of my throat. I liked the character up until that point, but I didn't nearly comprehend how much I had come to like her, and I would've never thought that I would be unable to contain tears over her. Everything about it is just perfect. The cassette tape she leaves behind, and her theme song, which the model behind Quiet sang beautifully.

The true ending though...I don't know. I don't hate it. I don't feel like I've been slapped in the face or anything. It's just...I don't know how I feel about it. I didn't predict it or anything, but not being able to predict something doesn't make it good. If Big Boss (2) had turned into a snowman, I wouldn't have been able to predict that and it wouldn't have been any good. It does add some context though like Big Boss (the original) sending Snake to kill Big Boss (2) in Metal Gear because he had become "evil" (this is only from what I understand of Metal Gear as I haven't played the game). But, if Big Boss (the original) thought Big Boss (2) was evil for what he was doing, why did he do what the second Big Boss did, only to be defeated by Snake? My understanding could be wrong as I haven't played Metal Gear 1 or 2, but that's something I'm confused about. I do however love the saying that we, the player, have become Big Boss and created the legend. I don't see myself as having played the medic. Looking back on it, I was essentially Big Boss, and the original/real Big Boss acknowledges that as well.

It's a shame this game couldn't have been delayed until next year so Kojima could finish it. If he could've finished it, this could've been the best Metal Gear Solid game. I didn't like having to replay missions in chapter 2. Why didn't they just have the important side ops be the main missions, and the replays be part of the side ops? It just doesn't make sense. But the missions like mission 43, which was incredibly tense and heartbreaking, do make this probably the best game of the year so far (alongside Witcher 3), and unlike others, I didn't mind Skullface. Initially I feared that they handled his death like Bane in the Dark Knight Rises, but when they went back to him and he turned into a coward wishing for death, it was just powerful, emotive and made him.

Agreed it a harsh fate for her and it was a shame to see her go she was a awesome character. The true ending without going into spoilers i'm also torn as to where i sit with it and while it was a twist i didn't see coming i'm not sure it really makes total sense but still a awesome game
