Brie was magnificent in this film. Her acting was dead on for her character. Really deserved an oscar nod. Good job Brie!

Brie Larson gives a great performance. She is talented, beautiful, and someone who can actually ACT. Her minimal facial expressions worked so well and were so effective for her character because she was playing a young woman so scarred and traumatized by her abusive father growing up. Brie Larson is like a young Gena Rowlands.

It is too bad Brie Larson wasn’t nominated for her incredible performance.

Yes she was and yes she deserved an Oscar nod. Shows how stupid the Academy is sometimes.

She was definitely better than Cate Blanchett and should have been nominated an Oscar, but I'm glad she became Academy Award winner after she won for Room.

I think her performance in this is every bit as Oscar worthy as her Room Performance. I actually prefer this film to Room honestly.

A bit of a shame about Brie, it feels like she's fallen back quite a bit as a actress since her Oscar win and hasn't lived up to that early hype. None of her films or performances have really matched her early run. Even reteaming with Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton with The Glass Castle and Just Mercy, haven't been anywhere near as great their first film together. Too many pay cheque jobs where she barely gives any effort.
