Extremely let down

A sanitized version of about 1/4th of the bands 50 years. 25 x 5 is still the most informative doco on the band. There's some great unseen footage, but usually it's too short or out of context. IT seems Jagger had put his foot down and there was no mention of Maryanne Faithful, Bianca or Jerry Hall. No mention of Anita Pallenberg. Whats left out is more interesting than whats left in. If it wasnt for previous doco's Charlie is my darling, Gimme Shelter, C.S. blues and Ladies & gentlemen there would be maybe 10 mins of footage. 50 years is a long time, but what the band needs, and we probably wont get until Jagger/Richards are gone, is a truthful mini series like The Blues or even the Beatles own Anthology. There is footage of the 75/76 tours, but hardly any mention. Footage of 78, but no mention of Some Girls or the era. It ends in 81, which is like 'WTF"? No mention of WW3 in the 80's, no mention of Bill leaving. Or the simmering long term tensions with the Glimmer Twins. APart from Exile & some brief clips of Let it bleed & Beggars Banquet sessions, precious little is stated about albums like Sticky Fingers, goats head soup, its only rock and roll, tattoo you - so much is missed. The only truly startling footage (and it lasts about 3 seconds) is the only color footage i've ever seen of the Stones 73 Sydney show. There's b&w footage of one of the Melbourne Kooyong shows, but even thats not shown. This film is just quite poor as far as i am concerned. Its obvious the band doesnt want to go too deep into itself even at this late stage.

Duel-ly noted, my friend-

I also do not like how they did not allow camera's when the Stones were making their comments. I was confused as to who I was listening to at times.

^Who was the genius who made the decision not to allow a camera in the room for the interviews? So annoying. Like we would be put off to see what they look like these days, as though we don't already know. We baby boomers have all aged so, obviously, the Stones have too. Personally, I would love to have seen Mick Taylor on camera; I had such a crush on him back in the day.

As you say, apart from Mick and sometimes Keith, I had no clue who was talking most of the time. The least they could have done was put one of those chyron things on the screen with their names when they spoke.
