the boy that spoke French (spoilers)

I think he was from Haiti? He was speaking French. Omg I hate the scenes with him because it was so painful to watch. How he wanted to do math, be a doctor. He just looked so deadpan and dejected. It was awful knowing most likely he'd just end up doing...who knows what. Nothing. And he just sat around all day doing nothing. It really was painful. And then he disappeared after the filming. I really hope he was able to go somewhere and find something better in life, but I feel that's just a fantasy wish. :(

Yeah this film was painful to watch. Just seeing how the kids languish away in these institutions. I mean these are people, human beings...just being wasted. I hate it. And that one Nate... I wish they showed more of him actually being in the US with the parents finally. But even him...it started out as a baby, back when he had more potential to be developed properly. But they couldn't get him till he was 4 and by then seemed to have that same kind of detached way about him.

And that one girl from Ethiopia...I'm glad she got adopted...but just to see how dejected and sad she got when the mom had to leave...can't deal! It's like these kids are so used to just being ignored... She allowed herself to be happy for a moment and then to go back to feeling she was being abandoned again. argh. but that's what they all are internalizing all the time

yeah painful. that's the only word
