shareWouldn't it be nice if we could develop so many good scripts that we didn't have to steal from the scandinavians?
shareAgreed.
It's rather stupid that foreign films aren't getting the attention they deserve in the US.
But f.e. a European movie which have had success in Europe, and is being remade in the US will likely also do well in Europe again,so it's often a win-win for the studios.
But the main problem is that cinemagoers love sequals and things they've seen before, an original scripts are difficult to make succeed.
Partly because they don't make them available in the U.S. unless you buy an all-region DVD player and pay extra for imported DVDs. I'll watch nearly any Scandinavian film I can get my hands on.
shareI thought was an ok movie, the deep water scenes are beautiful but the script is confused and lacked pace
