cute movie, and I loved seeing Lucus Bryant...BUT...

there were a number of things that they didn't explain. Like, why did Peter have a sugar intolerance problem. Was it just to sugary things that weren't made by his mother? Also, why was he living in the lower 48, teaching grade school? Also, was there a reason, other than being a scientist, that the dad was so against Santa? I think this cute movie would have been so much better if they had fleshed it out a bit.

Oh, and what was the significance of the watches that Santa, Peter and Mrs. C all wore?

Those watches drove me crazy too! They even slept in them. I was wondering about their significance the whole movie.

I guessed that Peter wanted to live a life for himself, and his personality clicked with teaching grade school, though I wondered where he got his accreditation.
The dad was against Santa because 1-his oldest daughter was bug nutty and he may have blamed himself for allowing such an imaginative falsity to leading her to her mental illness (especially since she was still writing letters to Santa her 30s-40s), 2- he's a scientist and doesn't see the point in lying to children.

And where was Linda staying? I thought she was supposed to be taking care of the north pole, but there she was at the house. Where was she staying? Sleeping in the garage?

How did Santa not notice that a HUGE piece of electronics was missing?

Is Peter magic? He ran around with the elf in one scene and Mr. and Mrs. Claus seem to be magic. But if he was true, couldn't he have used it to prove to what's her name that he was telling the truth?

Maybe Peter's sugar intolerance was due to the items not being made with love? I'm not sure how he maintained a nutritional diet as a kid eating only sugar too, but whatever. He sure didn't keep up the vegetarianism after he left home though (eating pork).

What was Peter's last name? He just went by Mr. C to his class, but I wonder if he used an alias.

I don't think she was mentally ill, she was just artistic and eccentric, while he is a total type A rigid person. Couldn't stand him or his other daughter tbh.

Peter moved between two worlds in his behaviour. Goofy and fun one minute. Then trying to fit in his prospective in-laws world. Peter was trying to deny magic.

I enjoyed watching this movie and I do agree that I think that this movie would have been even better if they had went a little more in depth with certain things.

But maybe they are thinking of making a second one, which I would watch, and more of this background information would be available.

But I loved it. At the end Alex says, "Dad somethings cannot be explained, they just have to be believed." I love that line.

Oh, and the main reason why I think that they are making a second one is that Santa said, do we think that we should tell him we are retiring and Mrs. C said wait until Easter.

So I am thinking that a second one might be in the works. All in all, loved it!!
