I just finished watching this movie... and I just wonder, why they couldn't get someone to play Santa, who actually looked like Santa? The costume he wore, was so completely fake! There are hundreds of Christmas movies with Santa... 95% of those Santa's look like the real deal... no fake beards and hair that looks so obviously fake! No wonder people had a hard time believing in Santa...

Or a young Santa Claus could also work - the man doesn't necessarily need to be old, bearded or fat.
The Santa Claus Nick Snowden from 2004 movie Snow was done very well; young, handsome, with dignity, and actually wields legitimate magic.
