Refreshing, moving, well-played
Quite sad no one else has commented on this. I was very impressed by the writing. There's a danger of falling into cliche with this subject but it was handled beautifully.
Helen McCrory is such an underrated actress. She is so powerful to look at, her emotions radiate from her eyes. I felt so much for Julie and her desire to escape, to better herself.
My only wish is that they had given it a happy ending because I liked both central characters such a lot.
