This site and those on it always have something negative to say about productions featuring POC more specifically black people. This is why I always watch for myself. I rather watch shows that suck with people that look good than constantly watching bland faces on TV, I have suffered enough of poor white television.

And yes, black shows are rated low because (and I'm black), they are mostly crappy.
THey rely on men in drag to make us laugh (eddie, martin, and now TP), loudness, slapstick, goofball ignorant antics. Or violence and materialism. Black media is an insult to our collective intelligence.
I miss movies like The Best Man, Love and Basketball, the Woods, Love Jones, etc. HOWEVER ,I do get the OP's point. Like everything else, what black people do in America is always subject to some type of criticism or ridicule, either by whites or by black people themselves. If a "black name" or trend becomes popular, suddenly there are jokes about it all over our media. It's part of America's blatant attempt to subjugate blacks, while worshipping and emulating our culture and venacular at the same time.
