Uwe Boll made a good movie!? is this a First?

Little slow in the start just to build up the character and the desperation of the protagonist
but then the cleanup start :D

Random killing FTW lol

Not the first; 'Rampage' and 'Attack on Darfur' were quite pleasant.

Or, if you count "eh, it's alright, I guess" as "good", then 'Postal' was arguably his first good/non-mediocre movie.

I didn't care for Attack on Darfur, but yeah this and Rampage are the only Uwe movies I can say were not completely godawful.

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.

reply

I didn't think 'Darfur' was great, but it was well-made and well-acted...that gives it a one-up on pretty much all of his pre-'Postal' films.

I would have also mentioned 'The Final Storm', since the first 4/5 of that movie is perfectly paced and engaging like a great 'Twilight Zone' episode but COMPLETELY RUINED by an awful, nonsensical twist ending. That's more the fault of the screenwriter than it is Boll, though.

rampage was good

reply

screw you- Rampage was awesome.

reply

No it's not the first. Rampage was also good.

That is not dead which can eternal lie and with strange aeons even death may die

i'm about 10 minutes into the movie... i'm only watching because of dom purcell and all the positive reviews i read of this movie... i must say, that left me surprised when i saw uwe boll's name come up in the opening credits... i was like, phwhaaaa?! written and directed by uwe boll? and everyone's says it's good? must be a mistake lol....
but then i figured, it's his original script, as opposed to him fvcking up good video games with his movie "adaptations".... you almost forget he really can write decent scripts...
maybe he should take a hint and stop making video games and just do originals...

It's mercy, compassion and forgiveness I lack. Not rationality...

reply

Shame though that it seems he still makes more money with those crap videogame adaptations than more-than-decent films like this & Rampage.

If only he'd put as much effort into the adaptations as he did in the above mentioned good films and he'd be a respectable director (and make me a happy man since I'm an avid videogamer ).

reply

I agree if he directed postal in a similar wait it would have impressed me... but ...he didn't..

reply

Nobody mentioned it yet, but Stoic is very good, although grim and unpleasant. Ed Furlog is very creepy in that one.

reply

A first? No, as everyone else already said, Rampage is also an excellent film.

reply

Darfur, Rampage, Stoic, Tunnel Rats. In that order, I guess. Darfur is first, because is a well made movie, but personally I prefer Rampage, because is real exploitation movie (not like some modern wannabes).
