Moral of the Story?

I fell in love with this movie in the first 5 minutes. Will be a cult classic. Preservation of life in Detroit or Flynt with the love of a son in his single family. A little alien and monsters to keep it interesting. Both members trying to keep the family home present. So sad that it ends the way most poor people's lives end!!! Major responsibilities with no backup for anyone. Especially our young. Ryan I LOVED this movie. Bit at my heart. Tweeting it out to all I know. [email protected]. I

I guess I just don't get it. It sounded interesting from what the DirecTV guide gave info on, but five minutes in and I was like, WTF? It felt like some post-apocalyptic movie so OK, fine, I can deal with that, but then she gets that job from that guy and again, another WTF moment.

I still don't get what that kid was trying to do when he went under the water.

And the end to me made the whole "plot" of the movie pointless.
