Newspaper Article revealing truth (spoilers)

A big deal is made about Sarah Polley convincing the reporter not to publish the story about her parentage until she gets a chance to tell her father.
Two questions:

1. How did the Reporter find out? Who squeeled?

2. Sarah tells her dad. And, then a few minutes later in the film they talk aboout Sarah convincing Henry NOT to write his version of events because only Henry and Sarah's families know the truth. So, are we to believe that the reporter didn't publish the story, not just for the day or two it took to tell her Dad, but for some time afterwards? It is strongly implied in the film that some significant amount of time has passed and it was still a "family secret".

1. Who knows how the reporter found out. I guess with some high society circles, including those in Canada, gossip gets around and before you know it, a family secret is known by several outsiders. But I really don't know. That's something the film is mum about.

2. We're never told what the reporter does with his story afterward. Maybe he never actually wrote it. Maybe he realized it wasn't going to be a huge story so he moved on to something else.

I kind of assumed that Harry (her biological dad) may have spoken to a reporter, because remember how eager he was to get his story published?

Sarah said in an interview after some calls and tears, she got the reporter to keep it under wraps.
