That's true about Sean but this doco didn't hide that fact even if it is largely a puff piece for EON productions' side of the story. The exec guy from UA even said it quite bluntly, "they looked after themselves but didn't look after their star. He wasn't happy and I don't blame him."
It is kind of a shame that he didn't participate in this film but you can see why he didn't, the doco explains the situation quite well.
Regarding McClory, well he was a thorn in all these guys' side but this does seem to be a pretty biased view about the rights to Thunderball. Personally I never liked that novel in the series, it doesn't feel like one of Fleming's novels, it really does feel like a novelisation of a movie. But strangely while I didn't enjoy reading that one I don't actually mind the film or it's remake, they're quite entertaining.
