hilarious netflix review:

I was glancing through the always entertaining netflix reviews and saw this gem on the first page:

"Don't want to be rude - but watching part of the movie and then reading how this was about young women finding their place in the world and how this is a true depiction of starting a band - sorry - but not even close. FIRST - you learn to play - THEN you form a band. The old men looking for explicit content was also funny. Unfortunately -I'm an old man and I did not expect explicit content since the description said 'misfits' not girls/women/ladies whatever. The only thing more misleading than this movie are the five star reviews."

Is this on US Netflix?!

I watched last night and really enjoyed it!

My experience is that people who learn to play first end up playing in mediocre cover bands as they have no real passion. Those who truly are creative will put themselves out there even if not quite perfected.

Let's list all the punk bands that were started by people that didn't know what they are doing:

All of them.

When I started my first all-female punk rock band, I was self taught on bass guitar, and even when I did have a few songs I made on my own, I never knew a thing about music. I learned, just like this film, through my talented guitarist, though she was older than me and our drummer (who was also a self taught girl). We were the best!

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
