Bad case of reshoots/studio interference.

If you check one of the reviews for the film, it's an extra going in depth about how much the movie changed after filming.

Also, a trip to the full cast/crew of the film reveals there was additional photography done on the film, most likely to try and change a bunch of plot elements. Reshoots aren't ALWAYS bad, but 9.5/10 times they are.

Seems like we have a case of a film similar to 2014's OUIJA, where the entire film was essentially canned and reshot due to test screenings and studio interference.

I saw a screening for this a year and a half ago. We were chosen to stay afterwards for an in depth audience analysis, but after the screening ended they decided to not do it and we were free to go after turning in our preview card. I think they knew what they had and decided not to beat a dead horse with further review. The best part of the screening was that we were each paid $20 on our way out.

Have you seen the theatrical version? And wow... They paid you to watch a movie?!

reply

No, I would not pay a dime to see this again. Based on the reviews I've seen, it sounds like there was no improvement. Maybe in a few months when it comes to Netflix or HBO I'll tune in on a slow night.
Very few screenings I go to will I pay to see again. One is definitely Arrival which I saw in March and was awed. I'll probably pay to see Miss Sloane and Gold again as well.
Some screenings I go to we get passes to see another move, and on rare occasions we get cash.

Would you mind telling us the difference in the preview and final version?

Read my post above. I have no idea what, if anything, has changed.

Thats funny. I was just looking into this film to see what Kate Beckinsale's been up to lately, and immediately recognised you from the Arrival board.

Oh.
