Never really got the impression of the freezing cold

I'm not sure if they mentioned it at the end or if I read it on Wiki, but it seems a lot of the climbers who survived ended up losing fingers and/or toes. I never really got this impression of dangerous cold watching the movie - they actually kept referring to how wonderful the weather was. The filmmakers should of done a better job of emphasizing the cold, by showing shivering, snow on faces, people complaining about not being able to feel their fingers etc...this would have given a reasonable excuse for not rescuing victims.

By mountaineerin standards, it really wasn't that cold. I've read it was around negative 4 Farenheit overnight. The biggest challenge is the lack of oxygen at that altitude, not the cold. That's why climbers were too exhausted to expend more effort on rescue missions--not the cold.

I just wathed it and they mentioned several times over that it were minus 20 and below when they camped for the night

Sounds like my apartment when the sun goes down in the winter. I live in Canada and heat isn't included in my unit.
