not revolutionary but nicely done

It may not be revolutionary and maybe you've seen some of these plot lines before. Interesting how many posters said that this is a rip off of other movies - Dead End, Dark Waters, etc. Do these people realize that these earlier movies are not great cinema themselves, and that they stole from the melodramas that preceeded them, and they from those that preceeded THEM, etc.
In this movie, we have an attractive female protagonist (always a plus), nice scenery, and beautiful filming. No horrible mutilations, no grotesque monsters, just creepyness. I loved the woods and hills in the distance; the beauty of the female lead; her red parka against the white snow; the tension in the relationship; the unspoken resentments; the atmospheric creepyness. I enjoy movies about people in challenging circumstances with their survival at risk. All this was enough to keep me watching and to award this movie at least 6 stars.
And I did not guess the ending.

I agree. I just watched it and definitely think it deserves a higher rating than it has based on the points you outlined.
The ending was not anything original...but that doesn't make me discount the movie as a whole.

Thank you for writing my nearly exact thoughts. You saved me the effort of having to writ it! I enjoyed this film for the exact reasons you stated.

Agreed fully. Much better than its IMDb rating would indicate.

THESE ARE FAKE REVIEWS FROM THE PRODUCER'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THIS MOVIE IS DOG POOP SERVED COLD.

There may be some fake reviews but my comments are hardly fake. I'm sorry you didn't care for the movie, but feel free to look at my posting history and you'll see I've been around a long time and had nothing to do with this movie.

Hey OP I was surprised you mentioned the movie Dead End as not many people have seen that one. This movie also seemed like Vanilla Sky as well.

I agree. The Frozen was not great cinema but it was entertaining and it built nicely to some tense moments and then some fun surreal stuff ...

... at which point I did guess the ending. For one thing, all of a sudden and for no apparent reason, blood appeared on Emma's face where it had not been before. Some of the blood seemed to be running down from her ear, never a good sign. Then we had what were obviously the Devil's hoofprints in the snow and those weird scenes with eerie people who clearly were not normal, living humans.

Still, the fact that it resembles Dead End and a lot of other movies doesn't make it bad. (Although DE is a better movie IMO.)

Also, a clue to the ending is the fact that Emma keeps running from the Hunter even when it becomes pretty clear that he's not going to hurt her (since he could have done so many times over if he wanted to) and is not one of the creepy evil spirits but is, if anything, trying lead her away from them. She keeps running from him because subconsciously she knows what he is and cannot accept the reality of her own death.

In agreement with the OP. This film isn't gonna make anyone's top ten list of films you must see before you croak, but as a film I picked up @ My local dollar store for a buuk? Purddy damn good.
