Basically a remake of Alien(s)

Anyone else agrees? Apart from the familyfriendly ending, it was all very aliens to my eyes.

WTF are you talking about. Because of the eggs??? Seriously I don't see it.

reply

I had a real aliens vibe when leaving the cinema.

The eggs, the traitor who wants to leave them there to get the egg away, the tough woman, the findings of the dead warriors. The whole "journey" and then unloading onto the Island of Odins Eye, eg landing on LV-426 or whatever it is called.

reply

The first traitor wanted to leave them there because he wanted the loot for himself; he didn't even know about the egg. The second can scarcely be called a traitor as such, because he had no intention of leaving them or even placing them in danger. He just made a bad judgement call.

All in all I don't see how Gåten Ragnarok is any more similar to any of the Alien films than, say, the Mummy or Raiders of the Lost Ark.

reply

It reminded me alot of the third Jurassic Park flick.

Are you a bug Bill Murray?

reply

Its more like National Treasure meets Jurassic Park, both filtered through norwegian folklore. They go on a treasure hunt that turns out to a hunted by monster film. The climax with the kids is very similair to Jurassic Park.

reply

Exactly, if I was asked to name a 100 films off the top of my head that this film reminded of, Alien wouldn't be anywhere on the list.

reply

Same here. What a silly comparison...

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

reply

Nah, more like um...Jurassic Park 3 where he has the egg in his pack.

reply

Norwegian Godzilla

How do you possibly say "basically a remake of Alien(s)?" Even when you go to explain yourself, you're neglecting to acknowledge that you used the wrong sentence as your subject line.

Maybe changing it to "shares similar motifs as Alien(s)" would make more sense. This is nothing akin to a remake of Alien.
