The storry seems interesting, but why choose such an inexperienced director? He's only done one movie "Fritt Vilt 3" a wery bad sequel to a norwegian slasher horror movie.
Im doubting that he can carry such a big movie. But I'm hoping for the best. It's about time we tried our hands on doing a viking.
A little afraid it's going to be rediculous. We really should have a great Viking film from Norway. "Birkebeinerne" is probably more viking than this.
shareThis is not a viking movie, its more like a norwegian National Treasure. Diffrence is that norwegian and norways history is strongly connected to vikings.
Just saw it, and I liked it. A little predictable now and then, but the story was OK. Got a few flashbacks from Jurassic Park though

shareKind of a run-of-the-mill "Expedition runs into nasty monsters" movie, but if you take it for what it is, then it's relatively entertaining. Nothing revolutionary on a big scale, but it has some of the better CGI effects I've seen in a Norwegian movie.

shareI don't understand the low marks this movie has received. I really liked it! As another person pointed out, there were a few flashbacks to Jurassic Park, but those were few and far between. The lead actor did a wonderful job between determined archeologists and caring father. You could also feel his pain over losing his wife to cancer five years earlier. Subtle but very effective acting. The only actor that wasn't up to snuff, in my opinion, was the cranky old guide. Chew any scenery lately? He was awful but he was the only downside in a really good movie. A real popcorn film. 8/10
