Looks like another Siddiqui yawn-fest

As if Raman Raghav 2.0 wasn't enough, we have to put with another boring, artsy flick with the Nawaz. I kind of get the deal with Irfan Khan. Irfan's Hollywood roles especially mark him out to be a special performer, and I'm not sure any other Bollywood actor would be able to deliver on the Hollywood scale.

But Siddiqui is just the modern-day Nana Patekar - an under-educated actor, not able to speak English well and good in character roles. The problem is, when you take people like Patekar and Siddiqui out of character roles and into leading-man roles, they don't deliver. Sure, they can act the role but they can't carry a film. They simply lack that charm, that je-ne-sais-quoi which makes leading men...successful. I mean more than just good looks (though Patekar and Siddiqui are unpleasant to look at), I'm talking about presence and the unquantifiable ability to connect with the audience.

In short, when I know Siddiqui is in a film, I tend to avoid it. The only films where he had significant roles that were good are Kahaani and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The rest of the Kashyap crap and artsy nonsense are immensely boring and a waste of space. As this film will be.

I'm surprised that I agree with some of the points you have made here. Haraamkhor was a disappointment, really.
