Why did you think they cut the Ben/Jules make out scene in SFC hotel ?

Or how Ben managed to clean the desk between 700 and 900 ?
Or what did Townsend's note with flowers say ?

I hate movies with unanswered questions...

Why do you say 'cut' the makeout scene? I can't see how it would possibly go that direction and I'm eternally grateful that it didn't.

Do you know something from working scripts that was supposed to have been in the story?

Personally, I love movie unanswered questions (depending on the question of course). They leave things up to the imagination.

Will Jules and her husband 'work it out'? Up to you. If you want them to break up, great, if you want them to work out out, great. It's all in your control.

When I was younger I used to hate movies that didn't have a conclusion. I now love them.

This film, for all of it's typical Hollywood broad brush stereotypes, is filled with little moments that touch the audience. My absolute favorite is Ben explaining why men carry handkerchiefs. But I digress.

For all the stereotypes of elderly wisdom vs. youthful impetuousness, there was the charm of how The Intern resisted falling into false drama. The scene with Ben and Jules in her hotel room, sharing the same bed, was perfectly done. When Ben first lays down on the bed, he leaves one foot on the floor, thus telegraphing his discomfort. But when Jules begins to pour her heart out about her marriage, he quickly relaxes into the role of father and sexual tension dissolves, like it never existed. I loved that. That scene wasn't afraid to show the complexity of human relationships as opposed to following a formulaic trajectory.

It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.
