SEXIST: What a superficial and shallow depiction of a 'real men'

So this movie thinks that carrying a dirty handkerchief and wearing a tie makes you a real men over guys who wear T-shirts and play video games..

So sexist, ignorant, superficial and shallow.

IF this movie was the other way around and said real women make sandwiches and do the laundry like a good girl there would be an utter outrage from all the feminists

reply

There were quite a few moments in this film where I thought the same thing. When she was drunk in the bar and start talking about how all men are X and Y. When they were in the hotel room at the end and they started spewing crap about "Im sorry I have to be the feminist here.."

The film was a chick flick but that is no excuse to use it solely for spreading ideology, especially one the vast majority of people do not agree with.

I hate these new age feminists... wish they'd shut up

reply

And you wonder why your t shirt wearing, video game playing self is fapping instead of being with a real live woman (with real boobies and everything!). And don't come back bragging about your vast sexual experience, because putting on a glove to fap is not "getting some strange", and switching hands mid-fap does not constitute a threesome.

reply

Nothing wrong with no being a with a real woman mate.

reply

Amazing.

reply

I think you're confused... this movie already is what would outrage a feminist. It said men need to go back to being men of old and "chivalrous". Also had a woman choose to stay with her cheating husband and made fun of millennialls. In short, you have no idea what's going on.

Are you not entertained?!

reply

Lol so women can't stay with cheating husbands now?? Even though the wife basically neglected the husband 24/7 and cheated on him with her work?

reply

No, I'm explaining how you're dumb. This movie was anti-feminist and anti-progressive. For the reasons I stated and many more.

Are you not entertained?!

reply

ur stupid if u think it was anti-feminist....it was all about championing feminism stupid *beep*

reply

If you consider this movie anti-feminist/anti-progressive I'm very curious to know what movies you consider to be feminist and progressive.

FYI, I considered this movie to be at least borderline feminist.

reply

Her rant about how "men aren't men anymore" was straight out of an MRA subreddit.

Are you not entertained?!

reply

As an actual MRA myself I concur. While I avoid reddit (censorship PC hell - Voat all the way) it is along the lines of what we think. I was nodding along to her speech.

reply

What a sick ideology.

reply

I kinda felt the same way. Weird depiction of what someone thinks men are supposed to be.

A traditional gentlemen over your hipster sissy looking generation you bet. Do you hear that.... it is the worlds smallest violin felling sorry for your pathetic arse.

reply

There were no hipsters in the movie.

F all hipsters...they should all die

This post honestly just proves how fragile a mans ego is wow

No, what's they were saying is that my generation finds their asses with one hand, in the dark, totally drunk, whilst your generation is nothing more than self entitled spoiled sissies, meaning that 1000 Facebook friends are real friends, while sipping their decaf low fat mokkachino, simple as that!

Edit: And playing stupid games on your I-Phone doesn't make you a gamer either!

If anything, I think Meyers was criticizing the emasculation of men in today's society.

It's great that women have equal rights and privileges but equality means just that: equality. You can't leave men behind.

During that bar scene, I couldn't help but think about that infamously dumb article in The Atlantic magazine by Kate Bolick. Meyers practically seemed to be using that scene to criticize Bolick's entitled, sexist whining.

Boo hoo. You're making a fuss too, so what's the difference?! If you want to be better than 'feminists', then can it; real men don't complain about such things!
