Renee Russo - Still a Goddess!

I went into this movie expecting cliches, and was very pleasantly surprised (I should have expected as much from Nancy Myers).

I thought it was going to be one of those 'fish out of water' movies, where Robert DeNiro's character was out of his element, but instead he ended up inspiring and motivating the younger characters.

And Renee Russo was a great surprise! She still looks amazing, and it was nice to see her doing her own thing, and getting with DeNiro's character Ben. As a 'slightly' older person, it was refreshing and awesome to see a movie that showed that older people can still have a life, and a really good one at that!

Russo in real life is over a decade younger than DeNiro. Even in a movie like this Hollywood can't help but cast a younger actress with an older man.

Guess what buddy, older men date younger women, not older women. That's how the world works.

Russo is a beautiful and talented model-turned-actress that is aging wonderfully.

I was surprised to read in her bio --born in 1954. I would've guessed early 1960s. It seemed just a few years ago she was playing young attractive women. So I thought she was much too young for the DeNiro character. I got the vibe that maybe she thought she was 'playing old' too early, too, but then again, she was 60 when she got this part. (She still looks great).

I felt sorry for the technopeasant older lady who wanted Ben in the first scenes. Her unattractive facial features were really highlighted in the way she was presented. I knew she wasn't going to get what she wanted. (But then she was incredibly dumb about common technology of the day, so clearly she was going to be a disposable character or the butt of some joke. I'm surprised they had her give the finger later...at a funeral, yet!)
