Did I watch the same movie as you people?

Must not have because I'm astounded by all the hate Live By Night is getting. This film had me hooked from start to finish. It most certainly does not deserve the score it has, it's at least an 8 if anything.

I suppose it's a cool thing to bash Ben Affleck nonstop, even though he has vastly improved over the past decade. All the people bashing him are people who live off Rotten Tomatoes scores, which is moronic. You people should hop off the RT bandwagon.

Not to mention if youre not interested in this film why the hell are you taking time out of your day to talk negatively about it? Most commenters on here even claim to have not watched it but like to see it fail. Pathetic.

This is not a bad film by any standards.

It was a great movie. As you said, solid 8/10 easily.

I thought it was great. I think the directors will be even better. I really don't know why it was negatively received.

I don't get it either, it was a great movie. and i was happy to see Remo Girone on the big screen

even equiped with a shovel and you couldn't dig this

it didn't bring anything new to the genre, there was nothing memorable about it

I too thought it was a pretty good movie. Not great, certainly flawed, but compared to most of what comes out of Hollywood these days, a very good movie. It is subjective, so if somebody didn't appreciate it at all it doesn't bother me, just don't expect everyone to feel like you do.

This was a really good movie, the 1920's were portrayed with amazing historical accuracy, plenty of action. The plot was a little confusing but if you paid attention it wasn't to hard to follow. I think the critics killed this movie. I don't pay any attention to the critics anymore, if it's not "their kind" of movie it seems they do everything they can to kill it. They especially don't seem to like period movies. Anyway if you haven't seen "live by Night" go see it I think you'll enjoy it.

I totally agree with the starter of this thread. This was a great gangsta movie.Interesting story,excellent costumes & set pieces,some nice twists,even underrated dark humour (Especially dealing with the KKK),and of course great action that wasn't non-stop either - I LOVED the shoot out near the end in the house.That was epic.

I predict a future "cult classic" and rightly so - Box Office Failure (Shouldn't have been). Negative critic reviews (Way better than they said). A good to great solid period piece gangsta flick.
